Episode 8: Invincible Iron Man #1 & 2 (2008)

It's 2008 (before the MCU got up and running) and Tony Stark is having nightmares.

Well, even if he isn't having literal nightmares, his nightmares fill the pages of this first series of Matt Fraction's run of Invincible Iron Man. Happening after the events of Marvel's "Civil War", this is a nice entry point to anyone looking to read some Iron Man stories. (Though this isn't an origin story. This drops you in after Tony Stark has been Iron Man-ing for quite some time in this inaugural issue.)

Give it a listen and let us know what you think!

Episode 13: Let's Talk About Indie Comics!

In Episode 13, Alex and Drew talk about a handful of different Independent Comic Books that we've read over the last few weeks! We tried to be as spoiler-free as possible, but some details were necessary to get the idea of the books across in hopes that you would look into them yourself! Titles Covered: The Wicked + The Divine Space Bandits Invasion from Planet Wrestletopia The Infinite Loop Sombrerian The Spire Rat Queens We plan to do some deep dives into some of these titles, as well as many other Indie books in the future, but in this episode we just wanted to share the titles of some books we think you might want to check out! Episode 30: Powers of X #1 (2019) - Part 2 of our PHOX Event coverage.

We are dropped right in the action in Powers of X #1, which, despite its #1 description, is actually the continuation of the story which began in House of X #1. We are quick to learn where the name Powers of X (10) comes from. Right on the first page we are introduced to 4 different moments in time: Year 0, Year 10, Year 100, and Year 1000. It will take many more books to actually figure out what the significance of each event is, but it will all be worth it, trust me! If you are just jumping in here, we encourage you to go back one episode and start with Episode 29, which begins the entire arc. We also highly encourage you to check out each of the issues yourself. These 12 issues weave in and out of each other and are well worth the reading time! The easiest way to find them is probably Marvel Unlimited . But I bet you can also find floppies (paper copies) at your local comic shop , and it is well worth the investment! We really hope you are reading along w...
