Episode 27: Batwoman #4 & 5 (2017)

Batwoman is in an intense fight with Knife in a cave filled with explosives. How is she going to get out of it alive?

In today's episode, we follow Kate Kane, Tahani, and Safiyah through fights, back stories, and intense storms. The story comes to a quasi-conclusion in issue 4, though with a real "to be continued" vibe. We continue covering with a little epilogue issue of #5, though it is more of a prologue where we get to see more of "The Lost Year". We absolutely had to cover this issue! It is a wonderful glimpse into Kate's past, as well as what made Tahani so mad.  It also had some of the most amazing art I've seen in a comic in a long time! Artist Stephanie Hans fills every panel and page with pure art! Here are a few examples of some of that wonderful art! We highly recommend you check this issue out!

Though we wrap up our coverage of Batwoman with this episode (for now at least), I am going to continue reading to see what ultimately happens between Kate, Safiyah, Tahani, and the Many Arms of Death.

And make sure to stick around until the end of the episode to hear the "exciting" conclusion to our latest series of "Lightning Round Trivia"!

Have you read any Batwoman? What did you think? We would love for you to reach out and share your thoughts!

Episode 13: Let's Talk About Indie Comics!

In Episode 13, Alex and Drew talk about a handful of different Independent Comic Books that we've read over the last few weeks! We tried to be as spoiler-free as possible, but some details were necessary to get the idea of the books across in hopes that you would look into them yourself! Titles Covered: The Wicked + The Divine Space Bandits Invasion from Planet Wrestletopia The Infinite Loop Sombrerian The Spire Rat Queens We plan to do some deep dives into some of these titles, as well as many other Indie books in the future, but in this episode we just wanted to share the titles of some books we think you might want to check out! Episode 30: Powers of X #1 (2019) - Part 2 of our PHOX Event coverage.

We are dropped right in the action in Powers of X #1, which, despite its #1 description, is actually the continuation of the story which began in House of X #1. We are quick to learn where the name Powers of X (10) comes from. Right on the first page we are introduced to 4 different moments in time: Year 0, Year 10, Year 100, and Year 1000. It will take many more books to actually figure out what the significance of each event is, but it will all be worth it, trust me! If you are just jumping in here, we encourage you to go back one episode and start with Episode 29, which begins the entire arc. We also highly encourage you to check out each of the issues yourself. These 12 issues weave in and out of each other and are well worth the reading time! The easiest way to find them is probably Marvel Unlimited . But I bet you can also find floppies (paper copies) at your local comic shop , and it is well worth the investment! We really hope you are reading along w...
